Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Camino Japan Travel collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who processes it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to respond to business enquiries and to understand how the site is used.
1. Who is responsible for your data

The person above is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the email address listed.
2. What we collect and why
| Data | Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Contact form: your name, company, email, preferred language and message | To respond to your B2B enquiry and prepare a quote or itinerary | Your request / legitimate interest in business correspondence |
| Technical logs from our host (e.g. IP address, browser, timestamp) | Site delivery, security and abuse prevention | Legitimate interest in a secure, working site |
| Analytics (Google Analytics 4): pages viewed, approximate location, device | To understand how the site is used and improve it | Your consent (analytics load only after you accept) |
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. We ask only for information relevant to a professional enquiry — please do not send sensitive personal data or your travellers' personal details through the form.
3. Cookies and consent
Whether analytics cookies need your consent depends on where you are. For visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set until you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner; if you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded. Visitors outside those regions are measured by default but can opt out at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
To decide whether the banner is needed, we set one short-lived, functional cookie that stores only your country code — it is not used for tracking. Google Analytics itself is configured with IP anonymisation and with Google's advertising signals disabled.
4. Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted service providers:
- Netlify, Inc. — website hosting and contact-form handling. Form submissions are stored in the Netlify dashboard and emailed to us.
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — website usage measurement, only after you consent.
These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. They are bound by their own data-processing terms and appropriate safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept only as long as needed to serve you and to keep a record of our business relationship, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics retention setting for this property. You can ask us to delete your enquiry data at any time.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent (for analytics) at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@caminojapan.example. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
